Pollini one of the front runners at the KZ2 FIA karting European Championship

In the first round of the European Championship dedicated to the gear classes, at the circuit in Wackersdorf, Giacomo Pollini was one of the front runners, closing in 5th place, thereby placing him among the contenders for the title.

The divers arriving at the circuit in Wackersdorf for the first round of the KZ and KZ2 FIA Karting European Championship were met by unsettled and bad weather.
It was in the KZ2 class that the IPK chassis came out on top, above all thanks to excellent weekend results by Giacomo Pollini, the standard bearer of the Formula K Racing Team. Pollini already demonstrated his potential in the qualifiers on Friday, achieving 9th best time. However, it was in the Qualifying Heats that the good performance of the Formula K chassis really came to the fore, thanks to one outright win, a 2nd place and two 4th places. It was a shame that this sequence included an unfortunate heat, with a contact that resulted in Pollini finishing 24th, giving him a real problem in the starting grid positions for the final. However, in this case, the Pollini – Formula K combination once more became a protagonist, with an excellent race seeing him finish in 5th place after recovering 9 places.
Still in KZ2, while Enrico Prosperi (Praga Racing Team) and Natalia Balbo (NGM Motorsport) gained significant experience, Tom Leuillet (Praga Racing Team) also had a productive weekend: after his excellent 8th fastest time in the qualifiers, Tom was once among the first three in the heats and was otherwise always in the top ten, except for just one occasion where he finished 11th. Starting in 12th place, he finished the final, which turned out to be more difficult, in 20th place.

KZ

There were two IPK chassis on the track in the KZ class. In the qualifiers, Jeremy Iglesias (Formula K Racing Team) was ahead of Francesco Celenta (Praga Racing Team) by a whisker. The positions were inverted in the Qualifying Heats, where Celenta proved to be more consistent, finishing in front of Iglesias (with the drivers arriving close to each other at the finishing line on two occasions). Another change in the “hierarchy” in the final, where Iglesias performed extremely well, recovering 4 places and finishing 12th.
Celenta was instead unlucky not have been able to start the race.
